‘Green Discount’ Campaign Launches on siopa.com
WIN an Irish Breakfast Hamper
March 8th, 2012
We are asking fans and newbies to post up photos of themselves wearing their green outfits or accessories in the run up to Paddy’s Day. Each and every one who posts a photo gets a discount on the Irish site, plus the one with the most ‘likes’ will win a St Patrick’s Day Breakfast Hamper (full of goodies to make a traditional Irish fry-up, including rashers, sausages, black pudding, scones and jam plus Barry’s Tea).
With the emphasis on fun, this Facebook campaign is sure to attract some hilarious images and, for those not willing to join in the fun, remember that the tradition is to pinch someone not wearing green so beware!
Tips on What to Wear for your Photo:
You can’t go wrong with an all green t-shirt or a green tie if you have to go formal; Dye you own hair, or your pet’s fur green; Wear some green jewellery [link to jewellery on siopa.com]; Hunt down some green nail varnish and hold your hands up to the camera or even take a pic of yourself drinking a glass of apple juice and wearing a green baseball cap!

Full Terms & Conditions
Free to enter, and open to anyone aged 18 or over, the subject is 'love' and the maximum number of lines is 40. Judged by acclaimed Irish poet, Leanne O'Sullivan, the competition is now open for submissions and closes 14th February. For inspiration, start by reading of one of Yeat's poems and think of his unrequited love for Maud Gonne! But we don't even need to reach into the past for creative encouragement - our own recently elected President, Michael D Higgins, champions cultural and literary life in a bid to overcome our challenges. He says, "Our successes, after all, in the eyes of so many in the world have been in our literature, art, drama and song and in how that drama and song have helped us cope with adversity, soothed the very pain which they describe so well, and opened the space for new possibilities." So what better time than now to get pen to paper...or, more aptly, fingertips to keyboard! Visit our Facebook page for more updates!
