Working from a studio workshop on the beautiful Dingle peninsula, in County Kerry, Ireland, Louis Mulcahy has been creating stunning pieces of pottery for almost 40 years. As one of the last big pottery producers making all his pottery exclusively in Ireland, the Louis Mulcahy brand has grown from his and wife Lisbeth’s original two-person operation to employing a team of over 40 craftsmen and women from around Ireland. In 2004, Louis became the first Irish craftsman ever to receive an honorary degree from the National University of Ireland in recognition of his artistry and the prosperity it has brought to his community, together with his support of the local culture, including the endangered Irish language.
